Starting on the Inside Work
All of the outside piping is done. The twelve inch duct is sealed, insulated, and wrapped in fourteen inch pipe and resealed. Now the fun begins, the inside work, cutting holes for grilles, running the stat wire, and piping in the supply and return runs in the attic.
Double piping, like I did on the outside of the house, is not a job for someone that has never done any sheet metal work! It is a good way to expand your blood pressure numbers and ruin your composure. Closing sheet metal pipe over another pipe encased in insulation is far from easy, and getting an elbow to fit over and slide onto a smaller one is even less entertaining.
Oh, and if you do try, stock up on first aid supplies. Sheet metal is very unforgiving and a great way to end up bleeding….
We watched the Dancing with the Stars results show last night. Steveo was sent home, which was a surprise to me as I had Tye Murry figured as the next exiting celebrity.
Fringe was also on last night as was Castle, both excellent shows and well worth a look.
Well, it is time to get back into the attic…
