Progress

Published by thomasforthe at 11:55 am under journal Edit This

The Scale auto project is getting much closer to completion. Barring any unseen mistakes in the primer it should be ready for paint. It was midnight before I managed to get that far so we shall see.

The dash is in and the huge gap around it filled in. The fit of some of the parts could have been much better, but it is a 30 year old model that has already been built once….

The front end is cut down, the area between the firewall and the doors filled, the frame is painted and the engine has plug wires. Hopefully all the little imperfections were found and worked out of the body.

The rear door panels are in place, the paint on the engine was improved, the front door panels had to be re-glued as one pulled out with the masking yesterday and a distributor was dug out of a parts box and installed.

The cowl area was repaired and reinforced as it had cracked no less than five times. It was reinforced with a plastic panel under the dash that also allowed the filler a place to rest around the sides and front of the dash.

The bucket seats had head rests that were hollow in back and had to be filled in and painted and the front end was glued onto the frame rails after it was narrowed to allow the front wheels to fit inside the fenders like a real car.

All that so I can finish the pictures for the article and hope it is accepted! And it is still not nearly finished, having a lot of little additions I want to make even after it is article ready.

I am hoping I will feel up to finishing the windows soon as well and have been putting it off until the coughing has subsided.

Associated Content has published two more articles with two more from December to go. I guess I had better get motivated and write more… I do have a few ideas rolling around in the emptiness of my mind, unfortunately one will take a bit of research on the new Diablo three game.

That is it for now,

Tom
