The Scale Auto project is moving forward if slowly. The body is closer to ready for paint with some minor filling needed in areas where the major customizing took place. This will be the fourth time that I re-worked the cowl area in front of the windshield. It still needs some pin holes filled, but it is closer to photographic material.
I narrowed the front end by about 1/2 inch to get the front wheels inside the fenders as they were under the outside edge of the fenders on the original model. I still have to lower the front end as it still sits high and has a completely wrong stance for a pro street car.
I did not realize how poorly this model fit together until after I had done some serious work on it. The dash doesn’t even come close to fitting and leaves gaps at the ends and front that will have to be filled. I’m am sure that will also interfere with the windshield when the time comes, necessitating further customization in the process.
I also have a major problem in fitting the filler pieces where the body meets the interior that can now be seen when the front clip is tilted forward. the body needs to be in place to attach them and yet it can’t be…. What fun! I will have to build them onto the interior and hope it doesn’t self destruct when assembling the final time.
Also the front clip (fenders and hood) have to be attached and removed to get the fit right, but will need removed for final paint and finish. What a pain!
I have set a few goals for myself for the coming year. To finally quit smoking is the biggie, to be published in print, requiring the completion of the above project or at least that is one possibility, and to create my own website. Last but not least, to complete, and submit a short story for print. I’ll not name these resolutions doomed to failure, but goals to be met and achieved.

I managed to get a few things done yesterday and since I am feeling better still I hope to continue that trend.
Work crept forth on the Scale Auto project, filling some defects in the cowl area and working on some fitting issues with the frame. I built wheel tubs for it and the rear of the frame is warped slightly at the rear. The dash is cleaned up and primered, with the instrument cluster cut out, awaiting a newer upgrade as well.
Associated content is moving along nicely. Two more articles were published today and the page view updates came out as well. Things are looking up for ‘09.
Today we are going to pick up the windows that came in while I was too sick to care. They may not get installed today, but they will be on the premises. These eight are to replace the windows in the block portion of the house. Once they are installed I will have one kitchen and one bathroom window to replace along with the single window in the laundry room.
Once all of the windows are in I will be able to move on to other projects, like the shed I have put off for far too long….
There are always projects needing my attention and the next in line is often waiting in line long before the present one is completed.
Take care,
Tom

With so few days standing between 2008 and 2009, looking to the future now might be a good thing. I have no idea what the future may bring. Life’s only certainty is that we will find out when it gets here.
I did not manage a whole lot in the way of work yesterday. A headache set in and decided to stay the day, going so far as upsetting the stomach as it stayed long past its welcome into the late evening. And I thought I was feeling better.
So far so good for today, the sinuses are still wacky, but I do feel better than I have in a week.
I have big plans for today. I intend to work on the Scale Auto project again and do some writing. I know I have kept saying that over the last week, but it did not work as planned.
I still have a lot of ground to cover with Building Better Sentences as well and hope to get back to that as well.
It is strange to think, that last August, I started on this writing venture and that over 2,000 people have actually read the articles I wrote in that time. Not a great feat in the grand scheme of things I know, but not too bad for the ego of this ol’ fart.

I feel better today. Not great yet, but better. My sinuses have dried out and decided to plug up instead of run, causing a head ache, and my rib cage feels like it was used for batting practice by all the major league team’s training camps… Other than that, I’m just ducky.
Hopefully I will be able to get to all the calls I should have made Christmas day.
I did manage to write another article for Associated Content on termites of all things, learned an awful lot about the little critters while I was at it. I found out they are related to the cockroach, a fact that did not allow then to move up the scale of my favored insects by any means. No wonder they are so hard to get rid of.
That was my sole claim to fame for yesterday, one article. Today may actually be a better day, only the Timex will tell.

I was beginning to wonder, feeling like dirt needed cast on the remains, the eulogy told. I am better! Not great yet, but better. If I cough one more time I may scream, yet I feel like the world has stopped and allowed me back on.
I am seriously behind on everything I was doing, but at least I am able to think again instead of holding my head up and together…
I have slept more than any person should, ruining my schedule and sleeping habits for the foreseeable future.
I have yet to get my wife a gift or make (or take) any calls. This is the first Christmas I can remember not talking to my oldest son,or my mother, strangely depressing.
Jo knew I wanted a new Dodge Challenger, she got me two brand new ones. They have that new car smell, and yet, the rear wheels are made slightly out of proportion by Hot Wheels…. I love that woman, and her sense of humor!
Well, I am missing a whole week, time to get working,

Whatever this vile and nasty bug is, you do not want it! I am about four days ahead on sleep right now and it really didn’t help. I am not rested. We need stock in a tissue company, having used four boxes yesterday….
My sides hurt from coughing, and so does my throat, my back, my neck and every other part. If it doesn’t hurt from coughing then it hurts from lying on it too long.
My wife and mom in law spent all day cooking dinner only for me to barely touch it.
Robert has it too.
I woke up around 9:30 am, remained conscious just long enough for presents and was back in la-la land until 4:00 pm.
I truly hope no one else has this crap!

I am amazed to find myself awake this early in the day, apparently I hardly saw daylight the day before. This is nasty stuff the wife gave me, sleeping 24 hours really is a gift beyond my normal abilities these days. I went to bed at five am this morning, and here I am awake again.
Three articles hit print on Associated content early this morning, leaving four in the queue. It looks like they will keep their bonus this time around with only six done, thus leaving nine to complete.
I have the urge to finish the model I am using for an attempt at print publication today, or at least make some progress to further it along. We shall see if I feel up to it or not.

This crap has set in with a vengeance. It went from an annoyance to full fledged misery overnight. I had sat here now for quite some time unable to do much more than hold my head up.
My body is losing this battle of wits with a small germ. It has become time to call in back up, bringing armored units up and shelling the lil’ bugger with antibiotics.
I felt like crap yesterday. I feel 100 times worse today. I will survive it, but at the moment, it really feels like the war is over and all that is left is a mop up….
Nothing was accomplished yesterday. the forecast is looking the same for today. I sincerely hope your day better than mine,
Tom
